Yoga Haram

Aku menulis ini atas pengharaman yoga yang diputuskan oleh Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan Malaysia.

But hey, kan Yoga can enhance your sex. Best lah tu kan? Kan?

How does a Majlis Fatwa works:

The Body: Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan

The Man: Prof Datuk Dr Abdul Shukor Husin

The Mechanics: Normally, the decision or suggestion of the Majlis Fatwa akan dibawak kepada Majlis Raja-Raja untuk dapatkan perkenan ketua agama setiap negeri before negeri berkenaan menggunakan enakmen agama di negeri masing-masing untuk mewartakan dan menguatkuasakan fatwa baru itu. All this while, the power of the Majlis Fatwa ia veru terhad sebab asasnya kuasa agama masih hak mutlak kerajaan negeri. Tetapi, sejak dua menjak ni, Majlis Fatwa dah kerja keras to find a mechanism untuk menyelaraskan sesuatu hukum yang diputuskan di setiap negeri. So, let say they come up with a suggestion (i.e Yoga)…it’s normally after a long study and they will announce it on the media and see the reaction of the masses. And when the time comes, they will make sure the ban will take effect or they will just let it go.

Case Study 1: August 2008: Ahmad Nasir Darus, 27, a student from Madrasah al-Diniah al-Bakriah atau Pondok Pasir Tumboh, Kelantan was in trial selepas ditahan kerana memakai serban ketika menunggang motosikal. Because of that, the Kelantan police was told to stop giving summons to anybody who wears a serban and riding bikes. Pas Mursyidul Am, Datuk Nik Aziz was quoted: “Pakai serban sama macam pakai topi keledar… keselamatan pemakai terjamin.”

In this case, Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan had to stepped in and urged JPJ to do an actual study on serban among Muslim and turbans with the Sikh.

Datuk Dr Abdul Shukor was quoted: “Jika pemakaian serban terbukti memudaratkan pemakai, peruntukan itu perlu dipinda kerana faktor keselamatan wajar diutamakan. Lebih elok pakar meneliti sama ada serban boleh disamakan dengan topi keledar terutama daripada segi keselamatan. Jika kesan pemakaian serban lebih memudaratkan, sepatutnya undang-undang perlu dipatuhi."

Case Study 2:
Pinjaman PTPTN

July 29th, 2008, Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan memutuskan caj perkhidmatan yang dikenakan oleh PTPTN must be in the concept of upah so that it is in line with the goal to help students to finance their study. This issue came up due to the complaints that PTPTN is taking too much money on the repayment of the students’ loan and all.

Again, Datuk Dr Abdul Shukor was quoted: "Jika konsep upah ini digunakan, kadarnya mestilah berbaloi dengan kerja dan tidak membebankan pelajar."

Where am I going with this? Sebenarnya, banyak yang jadi agenda Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan and Yoga is just one of it? By saying more, by arguing more…jangan terkejut kalau nanti orang akan kata Yoga itu macam satu cult.

There are just too many issue in Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan. Sometimes, I have to agree banyak yang ada agenda politik sebenarnya tetapi that is just the way it is and they justified it kononnya to uphold the institution of Islam not only as a religion, but as the way of life. I know, we sometimes hate the system but i have to say that we are in the system!
