Lokasi: Hutan Bandar JB
Tahun: 1992
Peristiwa: Pertama kali aku jumpa M Nasir. Sebelum tu aku selalu tengok TV and rasanya pernah ternampak dia kat Campbell kot ataupun itu yang seiras dia aje. Aku masa tu dah kerja sebagai wartawan Harian Metro tapi masa tu bukannya buat entertainment. You see, if you are a journalist for a newspaper like BH, UM, NST or HM, Kosmo etc, once you get transefered out of KL, there will be no more specific desk dah. No more Crime Desk, no more glamour shit world on Entertainment Desk...you are just a journalist. If M Nasir comes to town you become an Ent Journalist; when any Minister come to town pulak, you are a General Desk Journalist. Aku yang memang start at the Crime Desk on 1991 in KL, memang dah biasa untuk gila-gila punya membaca sebelum pergi assignment. So, apa lagi? Dua hari sebelum M Nasir sampai, aku segera ke Plaza Kotaraya beli semua album Kembara di Muzika dan study semua lagu lama dia setengah mampus. And when the time came, aku adalah seorang journalist yang bukan saja cukup ammo, malah aku terlebih-lebih. But, I took the man for granted! I think, being M Nasir and all (very artistic, a crooner, musical genius yang hanya menyanyi dan mencipta lagu handal-handal), mesti dia akan critisize the dangdut craze yang berlaku masa tu. So, aku apa lagi masa tu, aku cocok dia supaya dia dengan stail dia tu "say something quotable" about dangdut.
But he said this:
M Nasir: "Apa masalah kau dengan dangdut?"
Aku: "Hmmm....."
M Nasir: "Aku tak pernah tolak muzik."
And people, that is why he is M Nasir. Why should I dislike music langsung biar ia dangdut atau apa-apa pun. It represents something, it's saying something to anyone who wants to listen kan?
Why I'm telling all this? Apa relationnya dengan misi blog aku ni? Apa kaitannya dengan journalism?
In not so many words, Nasir imparted his wisdom about being open to all genre in music sebab semua itu ilmu.
Dan malam Sabtu lalu, biarpun aku bukannya a big fan, aku tetap rasa Anuar Zain hampir menyerupai John Lennon di Esplanade when he made some girls cried during his An Evening With Anuar Zain Concert.
Anuar Zain barangkali langsung tidak ada influence dalam diri aku ni but hey, he fuckin did it and I stood up and gave him a standing ovation.
I went with an open mind and what I got was how his music touched the people in Singapore.
He got soul!
Yes, that's the right phrase. "He got soul!"
Dan aku pelik sikitlah....kenapalah agaknya aku tak nampak Malaysian Press yang cover concert dia kat Esplanade tu? Are you guys busy chasing stupid gossips when you got a crooner creating history? What the fuck lah kan?
Fuck it lah....history will remain as a history dan kau lelaki yang bernama Anuar Zain - lu dah catatkan tawarikh sendiri and as Maximus said it: "What happened today (at Esplanade) will echoe in eternity." Ewah!
Anuar - Respect!
M Nasir - Thank you.
People - Keep it cool!

MNasir - now what does that showed us you?
Anuar - What history? That he made a few dumb girls cried? and you called that history and worth reporting?
I noticed that you got a complimentary ticket ...hmm I wonder would you have gone without one or even pay for one!
Anonymous - First of all, let's have some balls and do not be anonymous. Stop having critical opinion if you don't dare. Fuckers like you reminds me of all the pojok-pojok in Malay newspapers that has no originator you know: "Baling batu sembunyi tangan." You want your critical opinion to be respected, have some balls! (Itu kalau lu lelaki lah!)
hahahahahahaha..gila la anonymous 1
i really like your blog. then again you make a living by writing unlike mere mortak bloggers like me. M Nasir sure sounds like a swell guy. yes and his statement does show why he is The Sifu in our music industry. that could explain why our industry can't fight the onslought of imported music. the moment they start outselling our artis, our artis start making noises and call for the 90:10 innitiative. instead of looking at ourselves and try to be on par with them we try to ban them from the airwaves
is m nasir for or against 90:10. i have a gut feeling he is in the later category. he probably thrive on proving himself better than the imported stuff we hear on the radio
gd review u had there abt anuar's concert in esplanade. u definitely went with an open mind! thank God!
my god! Does it make any difference if I print a name? Wouldnt you be more concern with what is written, whether got point or not? But then some people are like that. They can be critical of others but when comments are critical of them, they lompat like kera kena belacan.
Just answer the issues!
Obefiend - Swell guy he is man. Had fun working with him although he will always say: "Kau ni jangan bodoh." a couple of times to your face to try to make u understand u know. Hahaha
Anonymous 1 - Since a long time ago, I do fo to any performances/concerts with an open mind.
Anonymous 2 - I could be a traditionalist, but yes, name is important. If not, you would just be as any other Siti Jarum, Sok Sek or Senyum Kambing.
Tapi saya rasa dia tetap bacul.
:) Keep it cool people!
Alida Abidin - Dah lama aku tak dengar perkataan Bacul tu...rasa nak tergelak pun ada! Hahaha
aku gelak baca anonymous punya comment. Rumah dia takder cermin la bro. Pls forgive him/her. Ekekekekeke.. Weh, apsal ko tak ajak aku pi tengok anuar zain? Bini aku suka wehh.. The next one, make sure you text me. But bro, look at the bright side.. budak kecik yang takder nama tu, at least baca blog kau, kalau TV naik rating bro. So biar ler dia nak baca, lagipun kesian kot, depa punya blog takder orang visit. So, cheers!
Hazrey - Rumah tak ada cermin. Hahahaha. Kurang2kan sikit mencarut tu. Hahahaha
hai... saya dpt tau blog u dpd blog sm... u know i'm very very glad that i've found ur blog... nak tau kenapa coz saya nak tanya macam mana nak dptkan that manja mag... dulu ada kat Malaysia n saya beli every month... then tiba2 stop... saya cari kat book store n vendor semua tak ada... that mag saya jdkan sbg tanda aras klu saya nak beli cd ker nak tgk wayang ke n ect... please... please help me, k... by the way saya pun peminat anuar zain juga tp x taulah bile dia nak buat show di Kuantan ni... mungkin x jumpa sponsor lagi kot... oklah nice to meet u n enjoy reading ur blog...
Lina, im the PA to this blog writer. Thank you for dropping by. Wahahaha.. bro, bila masa kau lantik aku jadik PA ko?
Takper Lina, nanti kalau Anuar Zain tak datang Kuantan, i nyanyi untuk u kat telefon jek yek. Suara i pun lebih lebih kurang kurang cam dia gak. Hehehe
Bro, bila aku mencarut? Ko yang ajar aku mencarut. This the fact of life beb, kita jangan jadi hipokrit semata-mata kerana nak please kan orang. Sejak aku kawan dengan kau, lebam kat dahi aku dah hilang.. Regret sikit.
Kenapa aku tak suka menulis? Tapi aku suka membaca. Kenapa yek?
Tks for reading ya.
Anonymous 1- lu x kenal sape DON nih...
sbb tu lu x brani...
Azman
so doncorleone should i believe on hazrey...;-)... anyway thanx coz sudi jawab pertanyaan saya... dgn pantasnya heheh... sorry di malaysia dulu sentiasa manja saya terlupa... yes u should usahakan utk langganan klu org lain x berminat but i berminat... really... n hazrey thanx anyway klu u nak nyanyi dlm telefon utk i... biarlah i tunggu anuar zain walau 1000 tahun pun... oh god... very fanatic... that's y penaja2 kat malaysia i don't know kenapa susah sgt nak sponsor artis malaysia... saya faham mereka org business but takkan tak boleh cari alternatif lain utk settlekan masalah ni kan... n one more thing terima kasih coz singgah di blog n left a comment... very appreciate that... thank you...
Aku memang nak pergi sangat. Masalahnya media invitation datang dari Esplanade. Diorang tahu ke nak invite media Malaysia macamana ? Dulu-dulu P.Ramlee The Musical pun payah gila. Nasib baik ada PR macam Eja yang take care media Malaysia.
I agree with Saniboey. Anuar Zain was phenomenal that night. He was charismatic and musically sound. Anyone who knows music will agree to this ;)
Lina - Never believe Hazrey....hehehe...he is a VERY VERY BAD MAN! Hahaha
SM - I heard so many stories about that. Sayangkan?
Anon - Agreed.
Gosh, how could Lina turn down such a noble intention like mine? The world is turning upside down.. damnit.. And Don-ut, dont you fucking dare to say I am bad. Im like an angel..
Lina, u can always call me, if you need a 'Mungkin', Perpisahan, or even Keabadian Cinta..heheh.. wishful thinking..
Don, that reminds me when we left Khairul in a karaoke sleeping.. how could he be sleeping in such a noisy room? Or he is just pretending that he is, to escape from paying (again). Hope he is not reading this, otherwise he will sue me.. gosh..

Ayau - Nasib baik aku berlakon jadi Cobain. Bayangkan kalau aku berlakon jadi Marylin Manson masa aku suruh kau berlakon interview aku. Tapi kalau lu interview Nas Ahmad, dia mesti jadi Klaun Meine kan? "Here I am, rock you like a hurricane!!!" Yeah!
Just flipping though this blog and might as well leave my mark here. I did'nt get to see Anuar Live in Singapore but then again, I am impressed that he even considered to have a concert in Singapore. Bukan nak pandang rendah but HELLO we don't really have organizers yang support Malay Artist in general to event step in places like Esplanade to perform SOLO!
Wish there were more shows like this in the future! And for him to be the ONLY Male Malay Singer so far to perform in Esplanade after Sheila Majid nye concert yang entah berape lama dulu, why not? Kalau nak tunggu band2 Rock Kapak yg entah2 would even lepas nak masuk S'pore kan (I Know Byk Kencing Tak Lepas, Lets not Deny that Ah!) sampai bila nak tunggu dorang.
AND MR/MS Anonymous (Comment Yg 1st tu): Its people like you who forget what colour skin you have and that we are a MINORITY in Singapore. I guess everyone has a say in his concert tapi have you ever give it a thought that Esplanade was almost FULL that night? Bukan itu satu inspirasi and motivation to the next generation that YES, a MALAY guy in S'pore did it? Have an OPEN mind lah.. Nie dah nak 2009 tau. Don't let your mentality backtrack to the freaking 60s.
To the Owner of this Blog: Love your blog. Love your blog entries and I pray that people read it more to see the world in a different perspective! AND memang bagus Media M'sia tak datang! Menyampah aku ngan tulisan dorang yg tak masuk akal!
Rock On!
